Robbie Tean Wiltz
Robbie Tean Wiltz, a long-time resident of Ruston, died Monday, the 4th of March in Houston, Texas.
Born Robbie Tean Tate on November 13, 1928 in Eldorado, Arkansas, she came to Louisiana to attend Grambling College. Ira Edward Wiltz entered into Robbie’s life during college. They married and one daughter, Toni was born of this union.
Robbie received a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Grambling College in 1951. She worked in the Beulah, Mississippi school district and later in the Lincoln Parish, Louisiana school district, where she remained until her retirement.
Robbie loved good food and socializing, enjoyed going to parades and attending family reunions, and especially enjoyed all realms of activity at her beloved home of worship, Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church. She had a wonderful smile that could light up a room.
Robbie is survived by her daughter, Toni Wiltz and grandson Tedric Edward Breed, both of Houston, Texas; Aunts Jennie Tatum and Patsy Coggins, both of Cleveland, Ohio and many cousins and friends that brought great joy to her later years.
A memory service to celebrate Robbie’s life will be held at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Ruston at a later date.
