Race to raise awareness
Some were running to win Saturday morning at Lincoln Parish Park. Others were running as a way to get out and show their support.
Seth Hanchey was running to beat the odds — again.
Hanchey, 19, was one of 180 competitors in Saturday’s Team Seth Foundation 5K Run/Walk along with Choudrant High School sophomore Brandon Smith, 15, who easily outdistanced the competition with a first-time time of 19:14. Smith’s performance was made even more impressive by the fact that earlier Saturday morning he also took first place in Trinity United Methodist Church’s 5K Skeeter Run.
