The omnibus appropriations bill that was signed into law this past week had come under fire for containing too many pet projects — too many local earmarks that local legislators like U.S. Rep. Rodney Alexander had squeezed into it.

We’re nothing if not ecstatic that Alexander and Sens. Mary Landrieu and David Vitter were able to secure so much money for Louisiana — $142 million.

More than $3 million of that will come right here to Lincoln Parish to benefit myriad agencies that need the federal help to thrive.
