Louisiana Tech University’s Laticia Watson scored 3,005 points and provided her team with 14 points in the pentathlon, as action began at the Western Athletic Conference indoor track and field championships at the Albuquerque Convention Center Thursday.

Watson’s 3,005 points ranks fifth in Lady Techster history, below the 3,045 points Ayanna Alexander scored at the 2005 WAC indoor championships held in Boise, Idaho. Alexander went on to compete in the 2012 Olympic Games in London last summer.
