The January meeting of the Cosmos Club was held in the home of Vickie Benefield on Jan. 9. The Rev. Jerry Hilbun, minister at Trinity United Methodist Church, spoke and showed slides of his 2012 mission trip to the Navaho Nation in North Central Arizona. This is the largest Navaho reservation in the U.S. where 180,000 Indians live.
While there Hillbun's group composed primarily of young people did carpentry work, roofing, plumbing and other repairs to the homes of the residents.
The workers visited scenic areas such as Monument Valley, Lake Powell and the Painted Desert while in Ariz.
