Blucas, Belgard to wed in Baton Rouge
Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Paul Blucas, of Ruston, are pleased to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Melanie Page Blucas, of Baton Rouge, to Christopher Scott Belgard, of Baton Rouge.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Louis Pullig and the late Mr. and Mrs. Walter Blucas. She is a 2004 graduate of Ruston High School and received a Bachelor of Science in dental hygiene from the University of Louisiana at Monroe in 2008, where she was member of Kappa Delta sorority. Melanie is currently employed as a dental hygienist with Bluebonnet Dental Care in Baton Rouge and is a member of the American Dental Hygienists Association.
Scott is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Richard Belgard, of Kentwood, and Mr. and Mrs. Carl James Gaudin, of Denham Springs. He is the grandson of Mr. James Truman Belgard, of Ball, and the late Mrs. Belgard; Mrs. Everett Alexander, of Denham Springs, and the late Mr. Alexander; and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur James Harris, of Baton Rouge. Scott is a 2000 graduate of Live Oak High School in Denham Springs, attended Southeastern Louisiana University and graduated from the University of Phoenix, Baton Rouge, in 2012. He is a Louisiana Army National Guard veteran who served during Operation Enduring Freedom at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Scott is currently employed as a processing operator with Exxon Mobil and is a partner with Community Management in Baton Rouge.
The couple plan to wed in a 6 p.m. ceremony March 9 at Broadmoor Baptist Church in Baton Rouge.
