Budget cuts, new policies to hurt DART

The Domestic Abuse Resistance Team, along with all other domestic violence service providers throughout the state, is staggering with the impact of Gov. Bobby Jindal’s latest round of mid-year budget cuts. Domestic violence program budgets are being slashed by 21.2 percent, a devastating blow to any budget.

“This cut of more than $63,000 will have immediate impact upon our programs and our services,” says Cathy Ayo. DART executive director. “We will have to eliminate staff positions and services unless we can find some other source of revenue.”
