Laird was loyal to RHS football
On a recent day when Billy Laird retired as head football coach at Ruston High, school Principal Mike Milstead listed three qualities that earmarked his career.
Loyalty, service, integrity.
Those were, indeed, the characteristics always exhibited during the nine years that Laird headed up the Bearcats’ gridiron program.
It will continue with his now full-time duties as athletics director, a role he also carried with his coaching responsibilities.
