The preliminary results are in, and it appears a few hundred less voters came out to the polls in Lincoln Parish this Tuesday than in the 2008 presidential election.

According to numbers from the Lincoln Parish Registrar of Voters office, 68 percent of the parish’s 28,005 registered voters — or 18,974 — cast their votes in the 2012 election.
Comparatively, in 2008, 19,285 residents — or almost 70 percent of registered voters in Lincoln Parish at that time — cast their votes for U.S. president.
