Natural gas leak prompts evacuation

The Ruston Fire Department received a report of a natural gas line ruptured around 8 a.m. Nov. 1 behind Irrigation Mart Warehouse.

Fifteen personnel responded.

“Firefighters arrived to a reported natural gas leak to find a two-inch gas line cut in half,” RFD Public Education Officer Eric Brazzel said. “Dirt construction crews were in the process of improving the drainage system behind Irrigation Mart when the machinery hit the gas line.”
