The Louisiana Tech baseball team kicked off the 2012 fall World Series Friday night, as the Gray team outlasted the Black team to win 9-6 and took game one of the annual series.
After three innings of play, the Black team led 5-1, but the Gray team would score seven runs in the fourth inning and never look back, eventually scoring another run in the eighth to extend its lead and take a 1-0 lead in the seven-game series.

Freshman Taylor Love had three hits, with three runs batted in and a triple, while junior Tyler Qualls recorded two hits, two walks and two RBIs to lead the Gray team offensively.
