Dynele Hodnett and Ben Arrant, both of Ruston, exchanged wedding vows in a 7 p.m. ceremony July 22 at the Dixie Cotton Gin in Shreveport. The small intimate ceremony, surrounded by close friends and family, was officiated by Judge Tom Bryson.

The bride is the daughter of Robin Chandler, of Ruston, and Kenneth Hodnett Jr., of Hodge. She is the granddaughter of Jack Robison, of Bossier City, Jackie Shields, of Ruston, Linda Williams, of Chatham, and the late Kenneth Hodnett.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an Americana-style tea-length gown designed by Justin Alexander, which featured a full tulle skirt with Venice lace flower appliqués, elegant crystal and pearl beading detail on the bodice with a Dupioni silk sash cinched at the waist. To complete the gown, the bride chose a birdcage veil made of French netting and edged with hand-sewn Swarovski pearls and carried an exquisite brooch bouquet created by Ronny Pesnell.

Josie Parden, of Durango, Colo., served as maid of honor. She wore a 1950s inspired summer dress.

Jacqueline Chandler, of Ruston, served as the flower girl.

Music was provided by Louisiana Purchase. Meredith Hamrick, of Shreveport, served as the wedding coordinator. Jemi Adcock, of Benton, designed all floral arrangements and Cameron Wallace, of Shreveport, catered the event.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Dixie Cotton Gin.

Prior to the ceremony, on July 21, a rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom’s parents at the Historic Fire Station in Ruston with Tall Timbers Catering serving the event.

On May 20, the bride was honored with a lingerie tea at Audubon Park in New Orleans. Otylia Finley and Jane Day hosted the event.

On June 16, the couple was honored with a miscellaneous shower at Temple Baptist Church.
