Oct. 23-31, schools across the nation and the parish will celebrate Red Ribbon Week. While this week is typically filled with fun days — like crazy sock day and wear a tie day — the entire purpose is to teach kids more about positive choices. And this year, because October has also been designated as Bullying Awareness Month, in addition to the normal focus of keeping America’s kids drug free, some schools are focusing on teaching students to be nice to one another as well.
