A Memorial service for Maxine Barbara Caldwell Simmons, 86, of Bullard, Texas will be held on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at 10:30 AM in Ruston, Louisiana at the Temple Baptist Church Chapel with Rev. Jared Billups officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 to10:30 AM, 1hour prior to the service.

A private inurnment will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Ruston, Louisiana.
Mrs. Simmons passed away October 16, 2012 in Tyler, Texas. She was born September 29, 1926 in Many, Louisiana to W.C. and Estella Speight Caldwell.

Maxine was an OR nurse and retired from Lincoln General Hospital in Ruston, where she lived for over 55 years. She was a very active, lifelong member of Temple Baptist Church in Ruston. Maxine enjoyed her china painting and her family. She moved to Tyler in 2008.

Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, one sister and husband Johnnie Aubrey Simmons in 2008 after 61 years of marriage.

She is survived by her loving family including her daughters, Judy McWhorter and husband Foster of Bullard, TX, Donna Goodwin and husband Bill of Birmingham, AL, Karen Boyd and husband Jay of Shreveport, Louisiana; siblings, Glen Caldwell and wife Delores of Pelican, Louisiana and Wila Dean Randolph and husband Huey of Jefferson, Texas. Maxine is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Chandler, Jack Cox, Chad Baragona, Brett Baragona, Jonathan Boyd and Jimmy Collier.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wycliffe Bible Translators, Attn: Ministry of Richard & Brenda Harman, Box P.O. Box 2820, Orlando, FL 32862-82006.
