Recycling on campus
Two Louisiana Tech University student organizations have a passion for making Ruston a little greener.
Kendall Belcher, a senior member of the National Society of Black Engineers, and Nicholette Powell, a sophomore member of the Society of Women Engineers, teamed up, along with other members of their organizations, to get a recycling program started on Tech’s campus last year.
“In Shreveport, where I’m from, there is a permanent recycling center and curbside pick-up,” Belcher said. “I want to do my part to make that more prevalent.”
