Let’s recap.

Because of a glitch in security at the Regents’ office in Baton Rouge, private data, including Social Security numbers, was available on the Internet via searching for over a year, almost two.

A law school student and “privacy advocate” stumbled on to the data using a Google search. Yep, a Google search. That instills quite a bit of confidence, right?

The student alerted WDSU-TV in New Orleans, and investigative reporter Richard Angelico alerted the Regents.

The board has since taken down the data, but that may be too little,
