Education is more than just keeping a child in school. It’s setting educational standards and goals, then achieving those goals to compete in our global economy. When registering as a freshman, the year starts each year with a clean slate. This demonstrates once again, there is a misplaced importance on sports versus academics in our schools. The problems between an academic school Grade Point Average (GPA) should count as a higher priority in a curriculum based school. It simply provided an indication of potential problems with the student’s past academic performance, so that timely intervention could take precedence over sports before it was too late.
