Duke, Posey unite in matrimony

Robin Michelle Duke and Ronald Gene Posey Jr., both of Choudrant, were united in matrimony in a 6:30 p.m. ceremony on Sept. 8 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Scott Duke. Tim Kennedy performed the double-ring ceremony. Baldwins of Ruston specially created the bride’s ring using diamonds from a ring of the bride’s late grandmother, Linda Duke.

The bride is the daughter of Scott and Amanda Duke, of Choudrant. She is the great-granddaughter of Hazel Williams, of Stephens, Ark., and the late L.L. William and the granddaughter of Sue Ann Herter, of Kellys, Jerry Buvens, of Kellys, Raymond Duke, of Ruston, and the late Linda Duke.

Gene is the son of Ronald and Peggy Posey, of Choudrant. He is the grandson of Billye Sue Younse, of Ruston, Gene and Juanita Posey, of Choudrant, and the late Will Younse.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an intricate Venetian lace gown featuring a beautiful high Mandarin keyhole back and fish-tail train finished with a deep hem of scalloped Alencon lace encircling the flared trumpet skirt and tiffany train. The gown was accented with delicately sprinkled crystals throughout and rich decorative beading at the empire waist. An elegant cathedral length, one-tier veil with pencil edging embellished with a crystal and pearl hairpiece was adorned. The bride held a beautiful traditional hand gathered bouquet of lavender roses, white and lavender stock, purple larkspur, light blue delphinium and assorted pastel fillers. The bouquet was tied with white French satin ribbon and braided with teal lace.

April Bagwell, sister of the bride, of Choudrant, served as matron of honor, while Kristina Colvin, cousin of the bride, also of Choudrant, served as maid of honor. Katie Reed, of Choudrant, Shelley Simmons, of Choudrant, Laura Posey, sister of the groom, of Choudrant, and Brittney Billberry, of Ruston, served as bridesmaids.

The bridesmaids wore a knee-length flowing chiffon gown with a ruched bust and sweetheart neckline in a beautiful regency color. The bridesmaids carried a hand gathered bouquet of purple stock, larkspur, purple statice, light blue delphinium and lavender roses. The bouquets were embellished with peacock feathers and bound with French satin ribbons in white, purple and teal.

Lane Stewart, of Haughton, served as the best man. Casey Bagwell, of Choudrant, Kelly Bagwell, of Choudrant, Robby Speights, of Ruston, Jonathan Wheelis, of Choudrant, and JT Wilson, of Benton, served as groomsmen. Mitchell Austin, of Choudrant, and Chris Davis, of Dubach, served as ushers.

The flower girls were Sage Tolar, of Ruston, and Grace Chandler, of Magnolia, Ark., while Braden and Cameron Bagwell, of Choudrant, served as ring bearers.
Amanda Willlams and Misty Walker, both of Choudrant, served at a reception immediately

following the ceremony at bride’s parents home. Kelly Shuff provided the music for both the ceremony and reception.

Prior to the ceremony, on Sept. 7, a rehearsal dinner was hosted by Ronny and Peggy Posey at the Historical Fire Station in Ruston.
Several wedding showers were held in the couple’s honor.

On July 21, a bridal shower was hosted by Suzette Austin, April Bagwell, Kristina Colvin, Sherri Colivin, Laura Posey and Sissy Tolar at the Community Trust Bank Community Room.

On July 21, a tool shower was held at Bennett Farms and hosted by Jonathan Wheelis, Robert Cone, Justin Wade, Lane Stewart and Chris Patton.

On Aug. 5, a “honey do” shower was held at the home of Jeff and Beverly Posey and hosted by Juanita and Gene Posey, Debbie and Mark Chandler, Laura Posey and Chris Davis and Beverly and Jeff Posey.

On Aug. 11, a bridal shower was given Alabama Presbyterian Church in Sibley and hosted by the ladies of the church.

On Aug. 12, a recipe and kitchen shower was given at the home of Patty Gay and hosted by Patty Gay and Billye Sue Younse.

On Aug. 18, a home and garden shower was given at the home of Anne Holstead and hosted by Gail Coltharp, Susan Colbert, Liz Trant, Becky Rounsaville and Anne Holstead.

After a honeymoon to Cabo San Lucus, the couple will reside in Choudrant.
