OK, let’s go ahead and get it out of the way — I am basically clueless about the current television landscape. I despise reality TV; I don’t enjoy today’s sitcoms; and, though I do like good dramas, I just can’t seem to get hooked on many of them.

Yet despite the fact that I don’t know much about today’s programs, I read TV Guide every week and my cable Channel Guide magazine monthly. Of course, being clueless has made doing the TV Guide crossword puzzle more and more difficult for me, and I do hate that. However, I still plow through both my guides religiously, so I can act like I’m in the “know” and then actually be aware of a movie or special that I might like.
