High winds knock power out downtown
More than 500 people in downtown Ruston lost power on Wednesday.
Darrell Caraway, City of Ruston utility manager, said the loss that happened just after 10:30 a.m. Wednesday was due to wind blowing a limb onto the line near the railroad tracks. Approximately 550 residential and commercial customers lost their power for about an hour and five minutes.
“So far that’s it,” Caraway said on Wednesday. “We’re looking for a lot more.”
