With Tropical Storm Isaac expected to hit land at some point in the next few days, Lincoln Parish officials opened one of the parish’s emergency shelters — Trinity Methodist Church — on Monday for evacuees from the storm’s path in preparation for the worst case scenario.

Zion Traveler’s Baptist Church will be the second shelter to open, likely later today, but that shelter has been on standby, with cots, bedding and supplies being delivered.
