Funeral services for Milton Raymond Johnson, Jr.,PhD will be 10AM Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at Owens Memorial Chapel in Ruston with Dr. Chris Craig officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Dr. Johnson died Friday, July 27, 2012 in Lewisville, TX.

Dr. Johnson is preceded in death by his wife Grace Evelyn Hogan Johnson. He was a retired former head of the Electrical Engineering Dept. of LA Tech and served on the faculty from 1946 until 1986. He was a life member of IEEE, LES and ASEE as well as a Life Director of the Engineering and Science Foundation. He has received honors from the Engineering Foundation, NSF, Tau Beta Pi and Eta Kappa Nu. Dr. Johnson was a member and deacon of First Baptist Church of Ruston for 60 years where he taught Sunday school and served on building and pastor search committees. He also served on the Ruston Planning and Zoning Commission. Dr. Johnson was also a longtime member of the Ruston Kiwanis Club.

He is survived by his children, Rebecca Lynn Walker and husband Donny of Coppell, TX., Nancy Raye Johnson and husband Phil Cook of Sarasota, FL, and Frank Milton Johnson and wife Teresa of Ellicott City, MD; Grandchildren, Ray Walker and wife Leigh, Rebecca Cook and Kes Johnson; Great Grandchildren, Jackson, Elizabeth Grace and Hogan Walker; Brother in law, Earl Hogan and wife Roberta of Oak Ridge, LA.
