The Nittany Lions won that game, 49-17, but will have to forfeit that victory and a 67-7 triumph over Tech in 2000 because of harsh sanctions imposed by the NCAA on Monday.

Those tremors disseminating out of NCAA headquarters in Indianapolis, Ind., early Monday morning made their way into North Louisiana by day’s end.

As part of the harsh sanctions imposed by the national collegiate governing body for the Jerry Sandusky sex scandal, Penn State University and its once revered head coach Joe Paterno will relinquish 112 victories spanning from 1998 until 2011.
