Far too often, special needs children are left on the sidelines while their peers enjoy childhood activities such as football, baseball, swimming, soccer, etc. However, children with special needs can also benefit greatly from physical activity.

According to USA Gymnastics, the national governing body for the sport of gymnastics in the United States, physical activity of all kinds helps children with special needs build their self-esteem, improve cognitive skills and increase motor and physical fitness skills.
