Reduce risk of drowning
This month has seen three reported near drownings in Lincoln Parish.
At least one of the victims was seriously injured. Such tragic events remind us that despite all the fun that awaits in lakes and swimming pools, there is always the danger that something could go horribly wrong.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, it is estimated that more than 3,500 people die from drowning (non-boating related) every year in the United States. About 20 percent are children ages 14 and younger.
