Up in the northwest parts of Lincoln Parish, where growing pains come on a little slower and life moves a little easier, the old timers often sit around the country store and swap tall tales.
The Lincoln Parish Police Jury will convene in regular session Tuesday night to discuss, and possibly approve an ordinance authorizing the public sale of a parcel of adjudicated property located on West Alabama Street.
Union General Hospital’s Community Program, “It’s a Girl Thing, Making Proud Choices,” was recognized at the national Hospital Charitable Services Awards.
The awards were presented earlier this month at a dinner in Atlanta, Georgia, for representatives from hospital community programs nationwide.
“We’re very excited about this recognition,” Evalyn Ormond, hospital CEO, said. “We are honored that Jackson Healthcare Hospital Charitable Services Awards recognizes the value of this approach to providing STD and Pregnancy Education.”

Ruston City Council members on Friday unanimously approved Ruston Mayor Dan Hollingsworth’s recommendation of Assistant Fire Chief James Austin to head up the Ruston Fire Department.
