Cuz’n Fish Fest is oh-so-sweet
On a hot and sticky late June Saturday in 2007, two brothers and their two first cousins, guys who grew up together and who, like stair-steps, were born a year apart, gathered on a pond to catch fish, have a fish fry and rehash old memories. I am the oldest of that group, all now in our 70s.
My first cousin, Doug Harris, who is one year younger than I, came up with the idea of the four of us getting together for the initial event, which has grown into an annual affair. Doug has a big pond on his property down home in Goldonna, a pond stocked with bream, bass and catfish.
