An attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice, Rachel R. Hranitzky, swung through town on Tuesday to listen to any concerns of Ruston firefighters or police officers.

Since 1980, the city of Ruston — along with 23 other cities — has had a consent decree with the Justice Department regarding the hiring and promotion of black and female employees of the police and fire departments.
