“We first set out — on selective admissions — to recruit the best students,” Reneau said. “We wanted also to focus on specific (technologies) to create a niche for ourselves in doctoral and research programs. We wanted to focus on those areas where we could reach world-wide prominence, and we had to have excellent facilities to go with that.”
Tech’s newest addition will be the biomedical engineering building, situated between Davison Hall and the Institute for Micromanufacturing, and it is scheduled to have its dedication ceremony May 4.
