Jury votes against support

Lincoln Parish Police Jurors voiced their opinion on two bills proposed in the state Legislature at their monthly meeting Tuesday night with two unanimous votes meant to oppose the two measures coming out of Baton Rouge.

The jury first voted to consider opposing House Bill 351, which would lower the threshold amount for a civil jury trial from $50,000 to $5,000.

Jury attorney Jeff Robinson said currently for a civil case to face a jury trial, the victim must show that there has been $50,000 in damages.
