Grambling votes close
The votes were close on the first two items on Grambling’s agenda Thursday night at their April monthly council meeting, leaving the town with a new amended property contract and the public works department one possible clerk short.
In a 3-2 vote, the town passed the approval to amend the property contract they had with Darrell Street for property on West College Avenue in the town.
Grambling Mayor Edward Jones said the town originally went into negotiations for the property because it is near the town’s water well No. 5, and it is legally required for the town to have land within 100 square foot radius of the well.
