THE VILLAGE OF SIMSBORO MONTHLY TOWN HALL MEETING MINUTES MONDAY, March 5, 2012
The Village of Simsboro met in regular session Monday, March 5, 2012 at 6:00 P. M. Council members present were Alderman Pam Durrett, Alderman Doug Durrett and Alderman Tiffany Cole. Mayor Hendricks called the meeting to order. Alderman Pam Durrett voiced the prayer. Mayor Hendricks led in the Pledge of Allegiance. Mayor Hendricks presented the agenda to the Aldermen and asked for a motion to accept as presented. Motion was made by Alderman Pam Durrett, seconded by Alderman Tiffany Cole. Motion passed. The minutes of the February 6, 2012 regular Town Hall Meeting was read. Mayor Hendricks asked if there were any questions or corrections. There were none. A motion was made by Alderman Pam Durrett and seconded by Alderman Doug Durrett to accept the minutes as read. Motion passed.
PUBLIC COMMENT: There were none.
FINANCIAL REPORT: Doug Brewer was not present. No financial report. DISCUSSION OF MUNICIPAL BILLS: Aldermen were provided a report of all checks written to review. Mayor Hendricks asked if there were any questions. There were none.
MAYOR'S REPORT: Mayor Hendricks reported Jeri Hendricks has volunteered to take Thelma Williams place as coordinator of the Beautification Committee. Mayor Hendricks stated he would like to make a proclamation concerning the Simsboro Boys basketball team's success this year. Mayor Hendricks has talked with Kyle Green, Attorney about taking the position of Simsboro Attorney. He will set up a meeting as soon as possible for the Aldermen to meet him. DISCUSSION OF OIL, GAS & MINERAL LEASE: Val Murrell, leasing agent for Indigo Minerals has submitted a new lease for our examination and it is identical to the one signed in 2008, after a discussion with Mr. Murrell, Mayor Hendricks will sign the lease for renewal. DISCUSSION-RENOVATION PROJECT: Mayor Hendricks stated there is no news on the project at this time. WATER/SEWER REPORT: Shelby Kelley reported that the water system was operating well and the sewer system is in good shape now. Update on lift station pump that had to be replaced last month: the pump that went out was warranted and we now have an extra pump for the main lift station. Walter Carpenter from MML&H reported he will be submitting to DEQ the sludge disposal specifications. He will also offer to potential bidders an onsite inspection for bids. Motion was made by Alderman Pam Durrett, seconded by Alderman Tiffany Cole to adjourn Town Hall Meeting. Motion passed.
