Jesus Christ and Easter
Last week I began with the first of a three-part series about the events leading up to the trial of Jesus and the upcoming celebration of Easter. Last week I referred to that time of the life and death of Jesus as the most monumental in the history of mankind.
Jesus had been living a life of preaching and moving around. Yes, he was causing a stir among the people. He was not preaching revolt against Rome; He was calling for a new way of life leading to eternal salvation. His was the role of the Messiah. Some recognized or believed that, many did not. This lack of faith was even evident at times among His own disciples. But the word was spreading over the months that Jesus performed miracles, lived and preached a new way of life, but He was perceived as a threat.
