Crowe recalls parish integration
When current Ruston High School Assistant Principal David Crowe started high school, he completed his first two years at Lincoln Parish High School, which at the time consisted of an all African-American student body, but soon found himself in the midst of a major change.
Starting in his junior year, Crowe and the rest of his classmates found themselves walking new halls, so to speak, this time at the newly integrated Ruston High School.
“We were transported to RHS at the beginning of my junior year. It was the 1969-70 school year,” he said.
