Choudrant High’s Emily Allen (left) and Simsboro High’s Tia Mitchell (right) were among the Lincoln Parish players involved in opening round games in the Louisiana High School Athletic Association girls’ basketball playoffs on Monday night.

Choudrant High pulled off an upset on the road, and Cedar Creek High was a winner at home to give Lincoln Parish a pair of victories in the opening round of the girls’ 2012 Louisiana High School Athletic Association basketball playoffs on Monday night.

The Lady Aggies (15-24) shocked favored Glenmora 33-32 in Class B and the Lady Cougars (21-9) got past Opelousas Catholic 53-48 in Class 1A.

Two other parish teams were eliminated in the first round of the state playoffs. Ruston’s New Living Word (4-24) lost at Gibsland-Coleman 50-37 in Class C and Simsboro (13-21) was a 70-34 victim at Florien in Class B.
