IN ACCORDANCE with Louisiana Revised Statutes

IN ACCORDANCE with Louisiana Revised Statutes 33:1226, as amended, the following persons who were duly elected to serve as members of the Lincoln Parish Police Jury representing their respective districts in Lincoln Parish, Louisiana, for the 20012-2016 term of office met in regular session Monday, January 9, 2012, at 5:30 p.m., at its regular meeting place in the Courthouse, Ruston, Louisiana, for the purpose of taking the Oath of Office: Theresa Moore Wyatt, District One; Hazel D. Hunter, District Two; Bobby Bennett, District Three; Randy Roberson, District Four; David Hammons, District Five; Walter Pullen, District Six; R. G. “Skip” Russell, District Eight; Joe Henderson, District Nine; Nancy Wilson, District Ten; Sharyon Mayfield, District Eleven; and Ronny Walker, District Twelve.
Absent: Jody Backus; District Seven
Mrs. Theresa Wyatt called the meeting to order delivered the invocation.
Mrs. Linda Cook, Clerk of Court, was present and administered the Oath of Office to newly elected police jurors as listed above.
Bobby Bennett offered a motion, seconded by Hazel Hunter, to approve the Agenda. The motion carried with the following votes:
Yeas: Wyatt, Hunter, Bennett, Roberson, Hammons, Pullen, Russell, Henderson, Wilson, Mayfield, Walker
Nays: None
Absent: Backus
Sharyon Mayfield offered a motion, seconded by Hazel Hunter, to approve the minutes of the December 13, 2011 meeting. The motion carried with the following votes:
Yeas: Wyatt, Hunter, Bennett, Roberson, Hammons, Pullen, Russell, Henderson, Wilson, Mayfield, Walker
Nays: None
Absent: Backus
Honorable Robert W. Levy, District Attorney and Parish Legal Counsel, was asked to preside as acting Chairman for the purpose of electing officers for the year 2012. There being no objections, Mr. Levy, acting as Chairman, stated that the first order of business was the election for the office of President and that nominations were in order. Skip Russell nominated Theresa Wyatt for the office of President. Hazel Hunter made a motion, seconded by Randy Roberson that nominations cease. The motion carried with the following votes:
Yeas: Wyatt, Hunter, Bennett, Roberson, Hammons, Pullen, Russell, Henderson, Wilson, Mayfield, Walker
Nays: None
Absent: Backus
Acting Chairman Levy declared Theresa Wyatt the duly elected President of the Lincoln Parish Police Jury for the year 2012. Acting Chairman Levy then stated that nominations for the office of Vice-President were in order. Bobby Bennett nominated David Hammons for the office of Vice President. Skip Russell made a motion, seconded by Joe Henderson, that nominations cease. The motion carried with the following votes:
Yeas: Wyatt, Hunter, Bennett, Roberson, Hammons, Pullen, Russell, Henderson, Wilson, Mayfield, Walker
Nays: None
Absent: Backus
Acting Chairman Levy declared David Hammons the duly elected Vice-President of the Lincoln Parish Police Jury for the year 2012. Mr. Levy called for nominations for Parish Administrator for the term of one (1) year. Joe Henderson nominated Courtney Hall for the office of Parish Administrator. David Hammons made a motion, seconded by Sharyon Mayfield, that nominations cease. The motion carried with the following votes:
Yeas: Wyatt, Hunter, Bennett, Roberson, Hammons, Pullen, Russell, Henderson, Wilson, Mayfield, Walker
Nays: None
Absent: Backus
Mr. Levy called for nominations for Parish Treasurer for a two year term. Sharyon Mayfield nominated Bobby Gray for the office of Parish Treasurer for a two year term. Joe Henderson made a motion, seconded by Skip Russell, that nominations cease. The motion carried with the following votes:
Yeas: Wyatt, Hunter, Bennett, Roberson, Hammons, Pullen, Russell, Henderson, Wilson, Mayfield, Walker
Nays: None
Absent: Backus
Next on the agenda was a Resolution Authorizing the President to Sign Supplemental Agreement Number 2 for the Braswell Lane Sign and Pavement Marking Project. Bobby Bennett offered a motion, seconded by Ronny Walker, to approve the resolution. The motion carried with the following votes:
Yeas: Wyatt, Hunter, Bennett, Roberson, Hammons, Pullen, Russell, Henderson, Wilson, Mayfield, Walker
Nays: None
Absent: Backus
RESOLUTION 2012 - 01
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Lincoln Parish Police Jury convened in Regular Session this 9th day of January, 2012 does hereby authorize the President Theresa Wyatt to sign the Supplemental Agreement Number 2 for the Braswell Lane Sign and Pavement Marking Project.
I, COURTNEY HALL, Parish Administrator, Lincoln Parish Police Jury, do hereby certify that the above and foregoing is a true and correct copy of an Ordinance adopted by the Police Jury of Lincoln Parish, Louisiana, convened in regular session on the 9th day of January, 2012 at which meeting a quorum was present.

Under other business the Jurors were reminded that the Police Jury Association of Louisiana Convention would be held February 23-25, 2012 in Houma, Louisiana. They were asked to let administration know if they would be attending. There being no other business to discuss, the meeting was adjourned.
