Funeral services for Mr. Clinton Lee Davidson, age 89 of Dubach, will be held at 3:00 PM Friday, February 17, 2012 at Owens Memorial Chapel in Ruston. Rev. Randy Ray and Bro. Don Stevens will be officiating the services. Burial will follow in Pines Memorial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston.

Mr. Davidson was born May 21, 1922 in Simsboro to John Franklin Davidson and Eunice Lee Davidson. He died February 15, 2012 at his home in Dubach after a lengthy illness. He worked for Chevron as a well checker for 27 years, and for the Louisiana State Forestry Division for 10 years. Mr. Davidson retired to enjoy gardening. He lived a very contented life on his farm and very generously shared the produce he grew. He also enjoyed tending his cows. He was very devoted to his family and cared for his mother until her death in April of 1975. On November 17, 1976 he married the love of his life, Betty Ann Darnell of Rayville. They loved spending time with each other in the garden, attending gospel singings and going to watch their great nieces and nephew play softball and baseball. He also was loved by all of the children in his family. He helped to raise some of his great nieces and nephews who loved and adored him very much. Mr. Davidson’s home church was Walnut Creek in Simsboro. He was baptized there and was very dedicated to the church and served on the Walnut Creek Cemetery Committee for many years. Mr. Davidson was a WWII veteran who served in the US Army along with his four brothers.

Mr. Davidson is survived by his wife: Betty Ann Davidson; two brothers: Paul Davidson and wife Kathrin of Crane, Texas and Marvin Davidson and wife Selma of Dubach; one sister: Mary Frances and husband Harold Bledsoe of Shreveport; his nieces: Paula and husband Bill Cass of Crane, Texas, Helen and husband Fred Baxter of Dubach, Elaine and husband Tommy Cox of Minden, Julie Davidson of Minden, Pam Noble of Austin, TX, Patricia and husband Johnny Murad of Ruston, Beth Craig of Ruston and Donna and husband Bobby Dowling of Simsboro; his nephews: Ronald Crawford and wife Penny of Downsville, Eddie Davidson and wife Sharon of Minden, John Dowling of Arlington, Texas and Ben Bledsoe and wife Dawna of Shreveport; 18 great nieces and nephews as well as numerous extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers: Prentis Franklin Davidson (who was killed in WWII) and Alvin Davidson; his brother and sister in law Fred Davidson and Mary Davidson; his sisters and brothers in law Narvis Dowling and Robert Dowling and Winnie Crawford and Pierce Crawford.

Pallbearers will be: Ronald Crawford, Ben Bledsoe, John Dowling, Bobby Dowling, Johnny Murad and Fred Baxter. Honorary pallbearers will be: Tim Baxter, Mic Baxter, Keith Canterbury, David Dowling, Lamar Dowling and Jonathan Craig.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until the time of the service on Friday, February 17, 2012 at Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in Ruston.
