If one can’t be trusted to be true to their spouse, how can they be expected to remain loyal to their country?

This is the question many ask when a politician is caught up in a scandal involving adultery. And there are plenty of instances where this happens.

Consider the following:

• The second ex-wife of Republican Presidential candidate Newt Gingrich came forward to disclose that her former hubby confessed to having a six-year affair with a Congressional aide and asked her for an open marriage. Gingrich reportedly acknowledged cheating on both his first and second wives.
