A temporary ordinance that would prohibit signs in certain spots along the I-20 corridor and the installation of new electronic message signs would not affect existing signs.

City leaders have seen the signs, and they’re telling them changes are on the horizon.

In March 2011, a one-year moratorium on new off-premise signs within the Ruston city limits was put in place, so that leaders had time to put together an updated ordinance, which will integrate both the zoning code and on and off-premise signs.
