BATON ROUGE (AP) — A legislative audit says Grambling State University has failed to address hundreds of thousands of dollars in missing or stolen property for seven years in a row.

The review, released Monday by Legislative Auditor Daryl Purpera’s office, says for the last budget year running through June 30, Grambling couldn’t account for $1.6 million in items like computers and furniture. That’s nearly 7 percent of the university’s $24 million movable property inventory.

Purpera’s office says the school has had to use public funds to replace missing items.
