Anyway, the epiphany was, when you get right down to the brass tacks of the matter, we’re not much different than those beasts that are often referred to as man’s best friend — dogs.

The occasion that turned this light on in the recesses of my brain was lunch at a local pizza establishment.

I’m not going to mention the particular restaurant because that had nothing to do with my revelation: it was all based on observation of those who had shown up to eat.

Most of you who dine in public during the day know that pizza places offer a lunch buffet.
