When presented with a problem, the best thing to do is to look for an answer to fix it, and that is exactly what the Ruston Board of Aldermen are doing as they prepare for a vote that would crack down on area residents who don’t pay their bills.

At the aldermen’s Dec. 5 meeting, an ordinance was introduced to be voted on at January’s meeting that would allow the city to deny issuance of municipal permits, utilities or services to any person, related person, legal entity or related legal entity until the payment for those services is rendered.
