“We’ve heard from some of the Board of Supervisors (regarding the issues), but we haven’t heard anything from the governor,” he said. “I think she should intervene in this situation; she can’t hide behind the board because she appointed them.”

The other two major issues conference attendees addressed were five demands that were issued to the Red River Parish School Board in regards to an incident in which a bus driver made nine African American children ride in the back of a schoolbus and the recovery of the state following hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
