Parish emergency preparedness tested

Lincoln Parish emergency agencies were tested and their radios were checked Thursday afternoon by the Louisiana Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness as part of an effort to make sure the parish is always 100 percent prepared for any disaster or emergency that may strike.

Lincoln Parish Homeland Security Director Kip Franklin said the communications drill featured members from police departments, fire departments, ambulance services and GOHSEP from all over the area, all working to make sure they could use their mobile command units to properly maneuver multiple radio calls on multiple frequencies to multiple different emergency workers on duty in the parish.
