Agency prepares to open new school

The nonprofit agency is contracted with the Office of Youth Development so that the new school’s 46 students — drawn from Ruston, Grambling, Monroe and West Monroe — will be referred by probation officers or Families in Need of Services (FINS).

“A lot of our students have been expelled from both public and alternative schools,” Suire said. “We work to catch them up academically and socially.”

On Friday, a job fair was held at the new Ruston site to hire 17 staff members who will be needed to run the school known as Youth Options.
