Tenacious defensive play such as this apiplied to a Shreveport Byrd High ball carrier by linebacker Tanner Frasier (40) will be required when Rsuton High plays host to Minden on Friday starting at 7 p.m. Other members of the RHS defense who will be focusing on halting theTide’s passing assault will be linebacker Eric Goree (49) and lineman Cody Henry (97).

Ruston High’s defense will have to be in a different mode of operation on Friday night.

After confronting two opponents who prefer to move the football on the ground, the Bearcats will now deal with one that prefers the airways.

“Minden is quite different from Byrd and Neville in that they like to throw the ball 70 percent of the time,” said RHS Head Coach Billy Laird about his team’s 7 p.m. home assignment.
