Celebration helps foster world peace

Students at Montessori Wildflower School add their peace rocks to the school’s peace rock garden during United Nations International Day of Peace celebrations.

Students at Wildflower Montessori School lifted their voices in support of world peace on Wednesday during United Nations International Day of Peace.

At exactly 11 a.m., students sang “Light a Candle for Peace,” which was being sung by different Montessori schools throughout the world at different times so that the day would be filled with the song.

The song is an original composition by Shelley Murley, who first began the Montessori school Day of Peace involvement three years ago.
