Black Caucus vows support
The first dealt with the proposed Eddie Robinson Museum. Rep. Willie Hunter, D-Monroe, made a bold statement when he guaranteed financial support for the museum.
Not only did Hunter say money for the project would be included in the state’s 2007 Capital Outlay budget, he also promised that additional funding would be provided to help with things other than just the construction costs.
“There is no reason for you to have to go door-to-door to individuals begging for money,” Hunter said. “I promise you, the money will be there next year.”
