GRAMBLING — Leaving the country free — the way they found it — is the current generation’s greatest and most important challenge, said Louisiana native and retired Lt. Gen. Russel L. Honoré during his visit to Grambling State University last week.

Honoré is most known for his service as the commander of Joint Task Force Katrina, during which time he coordinated the military relief efforts following Hurricane Katrina.

Honoré served as GSU’s Constitution Day speaker.
