District 12 contenders voice various views

With State Rep. Hollis Downs retiring from the District 12 seat at the end of his current term, three new candidates have stepped up to vie for the district that covers portions of both Lincoln and Union parishes.

Ruston resident Jason Bullock, Farmerville resident Jake Halley and Ruston resident Rob Shadoin all qualified for the Oct. 22 election to fill Downs’ spot. On Monday night the three men gathered at the Ruston Country Club for the North Central Louisiana TEA Party’s general meeting where they participated in a candidate forum to let those in attendance know where they stand on key issues in the area.
